Do you know why Ashley has one of the sexiest bodies in Hollywood? It’s because she makes exercises a priority. Every day, she starts her day by doing exercises. “To fit my workout into my day, I have to be out the door early,” said Ashley when she was interviewed by Shape. “That means I don’t have time to think about whether I’m tired or to come up with excuses. And I’ve found that when I exercise in the morning, I have a much more productive day. After I finish my workout, I feel as if I can conquer the world.”

And because Ashley is an outdoorsy person, it really helps her become fit. “Getting outdoors is so refreshing to me,” she explains. “It’s a combination of the exercise, soaking up my surroundings, and clearing my mind. It’s my happy place.”

For Ashley, her workout routine especially helped her achieve her role in “Twilight” as Alice Cullen. What was her workout routine prior to filming “Twilight”, by the way? “For me, it’s always a variety,” Ashley said. “I get bored easily doing the same repetitive things. We did circuit training at a gym while filming Twilight. We formed friendly competitions between the girls—who could do the most squats, or who could run the quickest mile. It put us in great shape and in a great place mentally.”

Ashley is also meticulous when it comes to her diet. She said, “What I put into my body has a huge impact on the results I get out of it. Eating keeps my metabolism cranking.” Fish, chicken, and vegetables are her usual meal choices and she always gets rid of unhealthy foods. “I always have fresh chicken—I would say fish, but it’s hard to cook!—some type of nuts, like almonds or cashews, and a medley of vegetables,” she shared. “If you fill your plate with veggies like asparagus or yams.These foods energize me for my workouts.”

What about guilty-pleasure foods? “When I want something sweet, I love Zico Chocolate Coconut Water—it’s an awesome substitute to quench your thirst and sweet tooth without being really bad for you,” Ashley said. “I also always have dark chocolate. My vices are usually salty though—I’m more of a savory than sweet person. I always have pickles in my refrigerator, which are not the best thing before a photoshoot because of the sodium. And Cheez-Its are very rarely in my house because I know I’ll eat the entire box!”
